Inter Nusantara are Champions

Indonesian football is on top of the world today after Inter Nusantara beat Manhattan FC to win Season Two of One Future Football.

Nusantara came out on top by two goals to one after extra time in a final that will remembered for a long time with both sides going for it from the outset.

Dutchman Bas Holsink opened the scoring for Nusantara in the 24th minute cleverly turning inside Manhattan defender Avram Matz and firing home from 25 metres out.

The New Yorkers were very much in the game and got the equaliser they deserved in the 71st minute. Dale Ramos picked the ball up on the right-hand side, dribbled into the box and sent a left-foot curling shot into the top corner past goalkeeper Peter Cools.

The game finished 1-1 after 90 minutes, so extra time was needed. The winner came in the 100th minute from the penalty spot after Olle Mustafa was fouled by Manhattan substitute Alejandro Parra. Holsink stepped up and sent the ball past Pedro Herculano into the corner of the net. 2-1.

Manhattan pushed for an equaliser and came close through substitute Cormac Connolly, but they couldn’t get the ball in the net. The final whistle queued wild celebrations in the Garuda Stadium in Jakarta. An amazing day for Inter Nusantara and a bitter one for Manhattan who have now lost two finals in a row.
