Round 21 Review of One Future Football

It was a dramatic penultimate weekend of the season, but let’s start with Brasil Amazônia. They were crowned regular season winners after beating Riyadh Stars 3-0 in Saudi Arabia.

Thiago Barros bagged his 17th and 18th goals of the season. Cadu Caos’ men sit on 41 points, another point would see them break the record for the number of points in a regular season.

Now to the battle for the playoffs. Tokyo Youth Club needed a result away against South London United but lost 4-3 after Ruben Sinclair scored a hattrick for South London.

That result meant Tokyo needed Paris St-Denis to drop points at home to Club Sportivo Palermo. Paris led 2-0 thanks to a brace from Jung Sang-Min, but somehow conceded two goals in added time to draw. That result keeps Tokyo alive in the race for the playoffs.

Naija United were beaten 3-0 away to Manhattan FC after a Luca Johnson masterclass for The Empire. Naija could still drop out of the playoffs on the final day. Inter Nusantara’s season is officially over. They lost 3-2 to Bondi FC in Jakarta.

Finally, FC Angelenos destroyed Bengaluru Phoenix 3-0 in Los Angeles. Nate Gomez scored a hattrick for Zebaz PvD’s side. That’s three wins in the last four games.
Round 21 League Table
For Tokyo Youth Club to make the finals, they need to win their game against Bondi FC and turn around a goal difference of 5.

If they beat Bondi by two clear goals, they need one of the following to happen:

⚪️ Paris St-Denis to lose
⚪️ Naija and Riyadh to lose by 3 clear goals

Amazônia are guaranteed a home semi-final after securing first place. Whoever finishes second will also get a home semi-final, so Bondi and South London have a lot to play for on the final day.

These are the final-day fixtures.
