Why Tokyo Youth Club vs Bondi FC means more this weekend

As we go into the final round of games in the regular season, all eyes will be on Tokyo for the meeting of Tokyo Youth Club and Bondi Football Club.

Tokyo currently sits in 7th place and needs to win to progress to the finals. It's win or bust for the Japanese club. They also need other results to go their way, but they must win.

Standing in their way are Bondi FC and Nick Stav and there's no love lost between Stav and the Tokyo managers Let Em Shoot. The managers have been goading and calling each other out all season via comments on social media and streams.

Nick Stav can end Let Em Shoot's season this weekend if he stops them from winning, but he also has his own club's season to worry about. He will want to wrap up that second place to guarantee him a home semi-final in the playoffs.

The last time these two sides met was in Round 11 when Tokyo were sitting top and Bondi FC were fourth. This is how that played out.

This weekend sees the sides in very different positions and their head-to-head comparison for the season so far indicates it's going to be tough for Tokyo to get one over their Australian visitors.

However, if Let Em Shoot can get them back to playing anything like their early-season form, they have a real chance here.

The game kicks-off at 6pm local time in Tokyo on Saturday, August 3rd.
