Jamac Salat was born in Jabad Geele in Mogadishu, Somalia, but at a young age, he and his family moved to Canada in search of a better life. Growing up in Canada, he discovered his love for football and soon became a promising young player. He played for several teams in Canada before eventually making the move to Australia. Despite being thousands of miles away from his homeland, Salat still maintains a strong connection to Somalia and is proud of his heritage. On the pitch, he is known for his tackling and clearances, making him a valuable asset as a left-back. Off the pitch, Salat is an avid golfer and can often be seen playing in some of Sydney's best courses on his days off. His favourite golfers are Tiger Woods and Tony Finau because seeing men of colour break down barriers like that has been inspiring. He spends quite a bit of time at Moore Park driving range working on his game.
