Joost de Groot is a 28-year-old central midfielder from the Netherlands, born and raised in Harmelen, Utrecht. de Groot was unable to nail down a starting role in LA and became known as a reliable and consistent bench player who could come into a game and help his team retain possession with his excellent range of passing. He made the move to Riyadh in a swap deal at the end of Season One that sent Vitaly Malyarov in the other direction. Outside of football, he loves playing darts and watches all major tournaments on TV. He's installed a dartboard in his house and has become a very skilled player. He competed in local dart leagues and tournaments around LA. He was known to visit local pubs and bars that host dart competitions, such as The Village Idiot, The Black Sheep, and The Garage. Joost is also a huge fan of Dutch dart players, such as Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld. He dreams of one day attending the World Darts Championship in the UK.
