Mathias Ramírez is 20-year-old central midfielder who won Manhattan FC’s Young Player of the Season Award in Season One. He hails from a small town called Treinta y Tres in Uruguay. He grew up in the suburb of Barrio Rivera and started playing football in his backyard with his younger brother. He’s a busy midfielder who is neat and tidy and rarely gives away possession. He’s 1.81m tall and he has a spring which makes his aerial ability a valuable asset on the pitch. His hard work ethic comes from his farming family background. Ramírez is considered a rising star in Uruguay's football scene, with many predicting a successful career for him. Off the field, Ramirez has developed an obsession with rock climbing since his move to New York. He enjoys climbing at Brooklyn Bouldersand also likes to climb at The Cliffs at Harlem, he loves the views of the city skyline from there. When he's not climbing indoors, Juan likes to explore Central Park and discover new bouldering routes. The sport has given him an impressive physique which he believes is helping him on the field. He doesn’t drink alcohol.
