Antonio Valenta is a 27-year-old defensive midfielder from the suburb of Žnjan in the Croatian city of Split. His main attributes are his exceptional stamina and the powerful shots he can deliver from distance. He’s been known to score a screamer or two. He’s currently challenging the likes of Cristian Venditto and Jeffrey Addo for a midfield spot and has been publicly vocal about his frustrations around a lack of playing time. His idol is fellow Croatian and Real Madrid star Luka Modric, whom he tries to emulate on the field. Outside of football, Valenta is an accomplished artist, with a particular interest in painting. He also likes to gamble and caused a stir when he bet a whole month's wages in an Abuja casino.
