Laouali Oumarou is a 26-year-old centre-half from Niger who grew up in the Sabon Gari area of Niamey. Known for his ferocious defending skills, Oumarou is an expert in tight marking, tackling, and reading the game. Despite not being an automatic starter, many within the squad believe that he deserves a place on the team. Oumarou has a very real passion for playing for Naija United FC, despite the intense rivalry between his country of birth and Nigeria. He is also deeply interested in space travel, and he admires the work done by Elon Musk at SpaceX. In his free time, Oumarou is an avid reader. Some of his favourite authors include Chinua Achebe, Ngugi wa Thiong'o, and Wole Soyinka. He particularly enjoys reading African literature, as he believes it gives him a greater understanding of his own culture and heritage.
