Here's a round-up of all the player, team and transfer gossip around One Future Football.
There’s tension in the FC Angelenos camp this week after Malick Clement and Alex Leon exchanged heated words during the 3-2 defeat to Riyadh Stars. The French goalkeeper Clement, who was suspended for the game, was reportedly arguing with coaches about tactics during half-time of the game in Saudi Arabia. It was 1-1 at the time, but Riyadh were very much on top. The Stars went on to win the game 3-2 and Alex Leon, who scored twice, blamed Clement’s outburst for the defeat saying his actions distracted the players. La Familia are back in action this weekend when they play Paris St-Denis in Los Angeles.
Naija United’s start to the season hasn’t gone according to plan with two defeats and a draw in the opening three games and winger Ojo Oladipupo has questioned the team’s tactical setup. Naija manager Olakunle Rufai has switched between a 4-4-2 and a 4-3-3 in the games and Oladipupo believes the former isn’t getting the best out of him. The 19-year-old, who primarily plays as a left-sided forward, told the media the more defensive 4-4-2 doesn’t play to his strengths, but he is willing to back his manager’s decisions.
