Review of the Qualifying Finals

The semi-final ties for Season Three of One Future Football are Brasil Amazônia versus Paris St-Denis and Bondi FC versus South London United after Paris and South London both came through their Qualifying Final games over the weekend.

Paris overcame Riyadh Stars and the French club has their local hero Florian Grava to thank for their place in the last four.

After losing the first leg 2-1 in Saudi Arabia, Le 93 needed to win by two clear goals at home in Paris on Sunday. Grava scored a hattrick in the opening 29 minutes of the second leg to put them 3-0 up.

Ollie Harris-Marsh pulled one back for Riyadh at the start of the second half, but Paris held firm at the back to win 3-1 and 4-3 on aggregate.

On the other side of the draw, South London beat Naija United over two legs. A Ruben Sinclair penalty gave The Ballers a 1-0 lead after the first leg in Nigeria.

South London started the second leg at home on fire as Adrien Grondin scored in the second minute to give them a two goal cushion.

However, Naija fought back and their captain Charles Ogude responded in the 13th minute. The Nigerian club were very much in it until the 49th minute when their midfielder Nick Amos was sent off for a second yellow. Sinclair killed off the tie by slotting home in the 77th minute to give South London a 3-1 aggregate win.

The semi-finals take place this weekend. The first legs are South London United versus Bondi FC in London and Paris St-Denis versus Brasil Amazônia in Paris on Friday. The second legs take place in Sydney and Manaus respectively on Sunday.
