The New King of Brazilian Football

"I think it's fair to say I am the King of this team and possibly the new King of Brazilian football." That's a quote from an interview with Brasil Amazônia captain Dani Viana this week.

Viana was laughing as he said it, but his importance to the team that topped the regular season of One Future Football cannot be understated. The 30-year-old mercurial midfield maestro from Cruzeiro has been the glue and creative spark behind the incredible season the Brazilians are having so far.

His five goals and six assists from midfield helped propel Amazônia into top spot and they go into this weekend's semi-final with Paris St-Denis as red hot favourites. Viana, who is having his best season in an Amazônia shirt, has the 5th highest rating per 90 in the league this season.

Is he the new King of Brazilian football? If he leads Brasil Amazônia to the title, he's in the conversation.
